This competition posed various design challenges: a steep drop, implantation in an area that has undergone a deep restructuring, multiple high-capacity roads that should not be interfered with, and an iconic building that required dialogue.
FHECOR has developed its solution with its own multidisciplinary team, trying to answer the following two questions:
Where would it have been logical to build the footbridge if it had been projected at the same time as the Vialia Vigo Center?
What would have been the functional and structural concept of the walkway if it had been designed at the same time as the rest of the intervention?
We congratulate the winning team, made up of Arenas y Asociados and the architecture studios AM2 and NOARQ, and the team made up of Mecanismo and Ábalos Alonso Arquitectos, who came in third place.
