The enlargement project of the new Terminal building at ‘Tenerife Sur’ Airport in the Canary Islands carries on at a fast pace being constructed by Sacyr. The new facility will connect the existing T1 and T2 with several floors, increasing the airport landside’s surface by 14,000 sqm. This intervention aims to reach a handling capacity of 16 million passengers per year.
At this moment, the foundation and concrete structures are reaching completion. The erection of the most iconic element, which is the steel vaulted roof structure, progresses rapidly, with the cover being currently placed.
FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores is responsible for the detailed design project of these structures. With this new contract, Sacyr trusted again in FHECOR’s experience in airport terminals, such as Madrid T4, Barcelona T1, Malaga T3, Fuerteventura, or Valladolid, among others. The understanding between both companies is palpable again in this project, after the association in the enlargement of the Terminal T1 of the Barcelona’s Airport in 2019
