ADIF PUTS OUT TO TENDER A PROJECT CARRIED OUT BY FHECOR

01/2024

ADIF is putting out to tender the renovation of the bridge's structure over the Guadalvácar River near the town of Lora del Río in the province of Seville.
The bridge over the Guadalvácar River was built in 1940 to replace a metal bridge damaged by a heavy storm on January 20, 1940. The heavy rains caused the collapse of the abutment wall on the Cordoba side, making it necessary to shore up and finally replace the bridge.
The current structure consists of two concrete arches with a top deck, and spandrels lightened with embedded metal beams. The total length of the deck is about 53 m, with two spans of 18.50 m each. It has a width of 9.70 m.
FHECOR performed the routine and special inspections necessary to determine the origin of the unusual pathologies of the bridge. Once the detailed diagnosis was established, the repair project was carried out, describing the actions required for the rehabilitation of the bridge, including the repair and cleaning of the viaduct, the waterproofing of the deck and joints, and the replacement of the railing, gutter, and trace elements.
