The Road Infrastructure Department of Guipúzcoa Provincial Council has awarded FHECOR S.A. and INJELAN S.L. the Service Contract for THE COMPLETE REHABILITATION PROJECT AND INSTALLATION OF ACOUSTIC SCREENS IN THE LOIOLA VIADUCTS (ZL2-7a and ZLK2-7b) LOCATED BETWEEN GI-20 ROAD STATIONS 7,047 AND 7,485 IN SAN SEBASTIAN. The Joint Venture has won the public tender with a project budget of 104,060 € (VAT included) and a 6 months project timeline.
The Loiola Viaducts were inaugurated at the end of 1972, and these two structures cross over the Travesía de Loiola, the Urumea River and the Eusko Trenbide Sarea tracks. The structure supporting the road in the Vitoria-Gasteiz direction has 26 spans with a total length of 893 meters, while that in the Irún direction has 12 spans and a full length of 438 meters.
The works will include the analysis of the bridge's damages and the definition of a repair solution with the aim to extend its life. Also, we are required to study the replacement of the barriers compatible with the installation of acoustic screens.
